Canada Pipeline Accessories was founded in 1997 by Dale and Blaine Sawchuk (brothers) to market the Nova 50E (CPA 50E) Flow Conditioner.
Dale Sawchuk, is a ASET registered Certified Engineering Technologist with extensive sales and marketing leadership. Dales’ customer focused business acumen makes the Canada Pipeline Accessories Co. Ltd. team very effective.
Blaine Sawchuk, is an APEGGA Registered Professional Engineer who has extensive flow measurement and meter station design experience. Prior to Canada Pipeline Accessories Blaine was leading a Research and Development program at Nova Gas Transmission, specifically relating to flow measurement problems and flow problems in meter station design. This gives Blaine a unique insight that is extremely beneficial in providing our customers with assistance with measurement problems in addition to providing the CPA 50E flow conditioner and CPA flow nozzles.
Nova Gas Transmission, as part of their customer service initiatives had sponsored Research and Development (R&D) programs focused on costs reductions in the areas of compression, pipeline, environment and measurement. Specifically with regard to measurement and Measurement Variance reduction, Nova Gas Transmission had recognized through the R&D efforts that there were serious performance problems associated with the AGA measurement standards which utilize tube bundles.
They embarked on a research project to determine what was causing the systematic measurement errors embedded within the standard and focused on developing a solution. The determination was that the tube bundles were not isolating the meter from upstream flow disturbances.
Nova decided to develop a high performance single plate flow conditioner that balances best performance with minimum pressure drop.
An enormous investment was poured into research to develop the Nova 50E ( CPA 50E ) flow conditioner which has subsequently proven to very effectively isolate the meter from upstream flow disturbances and provide the fully developed velocity profile required for good metering. Ongoing testing at independent testing facilities around the world has reinforced time and time again that the CPA 50E flow conditioner is the best flow conditioner available. Canada Pipeline Accessories has an extensive data base of independent research results on file which is available to our customers. Notably, all this testing was done by independent laboratories in high pressure gas which assures our customers that the testing and performance verification is valid for their measurement applications and is in complete compliance with applicable metering standards such as American Gas Association and ISO. The CPA 50E is applicable to all Gas and Liquid applications. Additionally the CPA 50E flow conditioner can be very effectively used as a secondary measurement device, further simplifying and lowering costs on meter run designs while increasing metering confidence intervals.
Canada Pipeline Accessories also designs and manufactures ANSI, ASME, and ISO Flow Nozzles. The CPA flow nozzles are primarily used for over – speed protection for Turbine Meters and Positive Displacement meters. CPA flow nozzles provide maximum flow limiting capabilities with minimum pressure drop in a simple, maintenance free device. Canada Pipeline Accessories can also provide custom designed patented flow nozzles for super accurate calibration, measurement and provers.
